The College of Architecture and Urban Studies has a strong reputation in research and computer graphic, and is among the top three in research of one hundred ten Architecture programs in the country. Professor Jones, the principal investigator, brings to this activity twenty-five years of experience teaching the rare combination of architectural design, three-dimensional graphics applications and computer programming. Professor Jones and one of his graduate students was sponsored by the College to attend a week long workshop held at the National Center for Super Computing Applications this past summer to learn to program the CAVE and to operate the sophisticated CAVE technology. Thus we have in place a core team to prepare CAVE animations and to develop new applications through the VE Lab and in support of the Virginia Tech CAVE™.
