WOMEN of CAUSe:
Three Generations of Academic Excellence in Learning, Discovery, and Engagement

CAUS is nearing the end of its 43rd year and never before has it been more international, multicultural, and diversified in its faculty, staff, and students than today. This did not happen by accident, but by design, and has occurred through decades of excellence and commitment on behalf of the college’s constituency in all manners of learning, discovery, and engagement.

The women faculties of CAUS have been part of a community that over generations has been committed to the advancement of knowledge in their disciplines to the benefit of the college and the university. This community has neighborhoods of academic scholarship, some written, some visual, but all of it executed in service to a greater, more diverse environment.

Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” This monograph is of an untold story, with due recognition and appreciation in a time when unfortunately, there is far too little of it.

I welcome you to read and enjoy the work of these fine academics and search for opportunities to collaborate and enrich all of our communities.

Jack Davis, Dean
